Why I write
I started writing because I wanted a record — something honest about what it is actually like to live in this little town we call Brookfield. Not the postcard version. The real one.
It felt right to name this place for a zip code rather than a theme. Zip codes don't lie. They just tell you where you are.
This page covers all of it. The good — the community, the seasons, the quiet moments that make small-town life worth living. The bad — the things that don't get talked about enough. And the ugly — because pretending otherwise would be dishonest.
It's time for my side of the story because life is too short to be silenced by a little mob of people pretending to be "friends" of this town. It's time to stop the tired narratives spoken by desperate people looking only to serve themselves. The ones who always take to Facebook to slander and defame anyone who calls them out for what they are doing.
If you want to figure out who the real bullies are, and who the actual victim is, look at who stands alone. The victim is almost always resented for carrying it on their own, while the bully is surrounded by crowds, enablers, and people who laugh along to keep it alive.
