Response: Legal Costs and Litigation

Mr. Kadelski suggests that legal expenses and disputes are the result of my actions. That claim ignores an important fact: the individual responsible for much of this litigation has filed claims against multiple town officials, employees, and volunteers.

No elected official can prevent another person from filing lawsuits, public-record requests, complaints, or other legal actions. The existence of litigation does not establish that those targeted by it are responsible for causing it.

I believe public officials should be judged by whether they acted lawfully, ethically, and in good faith—not by the fact that someone chose to sue them. Residents should review the facts and draw their own conclusions.
